Description:
The Department of Business Communication and Information Science at
the University of Southern Denmark (Campus Kolding) invites
applications for the position of a
FULL PROFESSOR in Language and Communication
to be filled as soon as possible. In order to fulfil its educational
and research obligations, the department is looking for an applicant
with a background in language and communication studies with research
competence as well as teaching experience within at least one of the
following areas:
- web communication (web-based communication in enterprises, authoring
and editing of web texts, web design, etc.)
- communication in technology-based interaction and discourse with a
particular view to enterprise communication
- textual theory with special focus on LSP genre theory and LSP text
linguistics
- LSP-related computational linguistics (computer-based terminology and
lexicography, corpus construction, knowledge representation, document
modelling, automated language learning, etc.)
The position includes:
-research and teaching either within the framework of the research
plan of the department (as documented under
http://www.humaniora.sdu.dk/ ) or in the form of a natural extension
of this framework
The department especially wishes to invite applicants who are
interested in building up a research and teaching environment
dedicated to web communication. This subject is expected to become one
of the primary future working fields of the department along with the
parallel development of a master's curriculum in the field.
-teaching obligations within the curricula of the department (Campus
Kolding): BA curricula for language and information technology, for
international business communication, and for humanistic information
studies as well as master's curricula for web communication and
humanistic information studies.
A successful applicant is expected to participate in collaborative
interdisciplinary work and to engage in a continuous extension of the
research activities of the department. These activities are directed
towards language and its use in special domains, information
technology, and communication and information theory. Applicants with
a broad interdisciplinary background of qualifications are strongly
preferred. Further, teaching qualifications in either English, German,
Spanish, French, or Danish at master's level are required.
