Subject: new MA course in computer-assisted translation
NEW MASTER in TRANSLATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LILLE III
Beginning October 2004, the LEA department (Langues Étrangères
Appliquées) at the Université Charles-de-Gaulle Lille III
will be offering a Master in computer-assisted translation, a
Master en Traduction Spécialisée Multilingue:
technologies et gestion de prôjets.
The two-year Master programme is intended for students who are
proficient in French and two other languages. The applicants should
have a BA in Applied Languages or a similar degree.
The Master is a two-year course which trains students to become
translators, with an emphasis on computer-assisted translation
(target language French). The course also offers an extensive module
on project management. The seminars (especially those in the second
year) are taught by professional translators and project managers,
and the students are required to do a two-month internship in the
first year and a five-month internship in the second.
The MA programme takes two years, but students can also register for
the second year, in which case they have to submit an
application. The application forms can be obtained from:
