Subject: A Guided Tour of Calls and Conferences
Dear Linguists,
I know many of you are familiar with our Calls and Conferences area,
but for those of you who aren't, allow us to explain what we do.
Here at LINGUIST List, we maintain a database of hundreds of global
linguistic conferences, with detailed information on location, topic,
keynote speakers, how to register, conference website information, and
much more. Any one of you can simply go to our website and search for
linguistics conference information by title, date, topic, and
location. We put all the information you could possibly need right at
your fingertips!
In addition, we also maintain a database with detailed Calls for
Papers for these conferences. Linguists around the world can use our
site to find out how to submit their work for presentation at
prestigious conferences and meetings!
If you are a conference organizer, you can use our convenient web form
to submit your announcements and calls for papers to LINGUIST, where
we will not only add your information to our database, but we will
also email it to our thousands of electronic subscribers. Posting your
information with LINGUIST ensures a very wide audience for you call or
announcement!
Obviously, our Calls and Confs department provides a very valuable
service to the linguistic community. We make our information available
to the public at NO CHARGE, but we can't survive without your help!
LINGUIST List relies on the generosity of readers like you to support
our staff of editors, dedicated linguistics students who work hard to
ensure all postings are accurate and reach the public as quickly as
possible.
Have you ever gone to a conference or submitted a call for papers
because of what you read on LINGUIST List? Please contribute! Have you
ever submitted a conference announcement or a call for papers on
behalf of your school or organization? Please contribute!
Please accept our thanks in advance for your generous support, and we
hope you continue to find our services of high value and quality.
Yours truly,
Marie Klopfenstein and Andrea Berez

Subject: How to Donate...
This Year the LINGUIST List hope to raise $60,000 of which $6679 has

the coming year.
There are many ways to donate to LINGUIST!
You can donate right now using our secure credit card form, at:

You can also pledge right now and pay later, at:
http://www.linguistlist.org/pledge.html

ALREADY PLEDGED?
If you have already pledged to LINGUIST and would now like to pay
by credit card, please go to:
http://linguistlist.org/creditcard-general.html

dropdown list provided.
The LINGUIST List is under the umbrella of Eastern Michigan University
and as such can receive donations through the EMU Foundation, which is
a registered 501(c) Non Profit organization. Our Federal Tax number
is 38-6005986. These donations can be offset against your federal and
sometimes your state tax return (U.S. tax payers only). For more
information visit the IRS Web-Site, or contact your financial advisor.
Many companies also offer a gift matching program, such that they will
match any gift you make to a non-profit organization. Normally this
entails your contacting your human resources department and sending us
a form that the EMU Foundation fills in and returns to your employer.
This is generally a simple administrative procedure that doubles the
value of your gift to LINGUIST, without costing you an extra penny.
Please take a moment to check if your company operates such a program.
Thank you very much for your support of LINGUIST!
