The Language & Ecology online magazine has been upgraded to a full on-line
journal, with ISSN number (1745-3631) and editorial board. The name of the
publication is now simply 'Language & Ecology', and the URL is:

http://www.ecoling.net/journal.html

We will shortly be issuing a call for papers.

The latest articles to appear in the journal are:

a) Chance Encounters: ecology and haiku-inspired photography
- describes how the linguistic grammar of Japanese haiku can be adapted to a
visual medium in order to inspire respect for nature.

b) Extending the circle of compassion to include nonhuman animals: The case
of the use of 'who' as seen in grammars and dictionaries
- investigates the use of the pronoun 'who' in the case of nonhuman animals
