The 'E-learning Workshop' is organized within the 5th international
conference on Practical Applications in Language and Computers (PALC 2005).
The conference (see PALC 2005 circular for details) provides a convenient
setting for presentations of innovative educational technology developments
in the area of e-learning. We invite you to share online learning research
and experiences with others in the field of e-education. The workshop
focuses on the emergence of new technologies to research, develop and
deliver online education.

The Workshop is organized by the Chair of Comparative and Indo-European
Linguistics of the University of Zagreb (Croatia). The aim of the Workshop is to
discuss issues in comparative and historical Balto-Slavic accentology. All
papers dealing with the accentuation of Balto-Slavic, Slavic, or various Baltic
and Slavic languages are welcomed. The focus is on diachronic approach, although
synchronic approaches are also welcomed. The Workshop will also include a
seminar A Short Introduction into Croatian Accentology. Working language will be
primarily English, but presentations in German or Russian are also acceptable.
Registration fee is 20 EURO (for participants presenting the paper as well as
for those only attending the Workshop). It will include refreshments during the
Workshop and a book of abstracts. On day 3 of the workshop there will be an
excursion to the beautiful castles of Trakoscan and Veliki Tabor in Hrvatsko
zagorje, where Bednja Kajkavian dialect, which is very archaic and interesting
accentologically, is spoken.

CALL FOR PAPERS:
Please send the working title of your presentation together with the
pre-registration form available online (at http://mudrac.ffzg.hr/~mkapovic) by
December 15, 2004 via e-mail (to mkapovic at ffzg.hr) as Microsoft Word attachment.
Please bear in mind that you shall have 20 minutes for your presentations (plus
10 minutes for the discussion). Those interested should send the short abstract
(300 words maximum) via e-mail (to mkapovic at ffzg.hr) as Microsoft Word
attachment by March 1, 2005. The second circular will be sent in December.
