We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Has anyone used an i-pod recorder for linguistic fieldwork, and if so, what
is the verdict?

The i-pod recorder link is:

Hello,

I am compiling a corpus of original film titles in English which contain
puns or some type of wordplay in order to analyse how they have been
translated into Spanish. Could anybody suggest titles of this type to me?

There are some titles which I am not sure about, such as ''The Crying
Game'' (Neil Jordan, 1994), ''The in-laws'' (Andrew Fleming, 2003), or
''The shipping news'' (Lasse Hallström, 2001). Do you think they contain
any type of pun?
Any references on this topic would be very welcome.

Thanks very much in advance for your help,

Javier Díaz
