================================================================
The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.
Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html.
This page has been set up so that people can report on the employment
standards of various countries.

Description:
The Linguistics Program of Eastern Michigan University, in conjunction with
E-MELD (NSF Behavioral and Cognitive Science Infrastructure Grant #0094934:

been on an endangered language or languages.
The goal of the E-MELD project is to develop recommendations of best practice

under development to the requirements of his or her field materials. This
individual will also be expected to teach one course each semester of the
appointment; the course may be Field Methods or a seminar in the candidate's
language specialty.
The PhD must be completed at the time of appointment. Eastern Michigan
University is a comprehensive university in southeastern Michigan with
approximately 25,000 students and 400 academic majors, minors and concentrations
offered through five degree-granting colleges and a graduate school. EMU is an
Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer; women and minority candidates
are strongly encouraged to apply.
Please send application letter, CV, and complete dossier, including 3 letters of
