================================================================
The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.
Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobnet.html. This page has been set
up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

Description:
Glyph Language Services is looking Linguistic QA Consultants (native
speakers) for Persian (Western), Dari (Eastern Persian), Urdu, Arabic
(Standard), Pashto and Russian. The QA Consultants will assist Glyph
initially in analysing test materials from potential translators in these
languages for potential use in a large ongoing translation project. After
initial analysis of translators' quality of work, the QA consultant will
perform periodic quality checks on translated material from the project,
providing constructive feedback to the translators to improve quality. The
project subject matter is journalistic in nature. This is a freelance
position and the need for consulting services would be regular but not
necessarily frequent. The exact parameters of the project are yet to be
determined, but there will probably be a weekly or bi-weekly need for
consulting.
For immediate consideration please email your resume, a cover later
detailing relevant experience and your desired salary to
jobs at glyphservices.com. Please reference the 'QA Consultant' and your
native language in the subject line of your email.
