The featured article for 30 Jan 2005 at the Wikipedia is about the Laal
language of Chad. The front page is at:

It mentions that the language is unclassified and endangered. The full article
is at:

It includes a brief sketch of the phonology and grammar.
While other feature articles at Wikipedia have been about language, I
believe this is the first time an endangered language was the topic (not
counting Latin!).
