Description:
In the Faculty of Languages and Literatures, Department of English and
American Studies, the following post of a tenured professorship is to be
filled: Linguistics of the English Language (Professor, Bes. Gr. W3).
The discipline must be represented comprehensively in teaching. Also, the
research areas of the applicant should lie within the core areas of English
linguistics, they should include issues of the history of the English
language and varieties of English. In addition, it will be necessary to
participate in academic self-administration.
According to § 25 of the Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz (NHG)
prerequisites for employment are an academic qualification (M.A. or an
equivalent certification), pedagogic qualifications, a PhD and additional
academic achievements, normally a "habilitation" and/or equivalent
scientific/academic or practical qualifications.
The University of Osnabrück aims at raising the proportion of women within
the academic staff. Therefore, women are asked explicitly to apply and will
be considered with preference provided they have equal qualifications.
Disabled persons with equal qualifications will be preferred. The
possibility of part-time occupation is given.

of the Faculty of Languages and Literatures, University of Osnabrück.
