Description:
Rochester Institute of Technology invites applications for the tenure-track
position of Assistant Professor of French in the Department of Foreign
Languages, College of Liberal Arts. The position begins September 2006.
Required are the Ph.D. and native or near-native fluency in French and English.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the French
program. S/he must have commitment to and demonstrable excellence in the
teaching of language courses using proficiency-oriented methodologies.
Expertise in technology-based pedagogy expected. Commitment to fostering
global awareness highly desirable. Other responsibilities include teaching
all levels of language courses, developing upper-level culture courses in
areas of interest and expertise, scholarly work and publication, and
collegial involvement. We offer concentrations, minors, and electives to
all RIT students as part of the Liberal Arts curriculum, and we contribute
to a degree program in International Studies. The Department is located in
a new, state-of-the-art, Foreign Language Technology Center. Send letter,
