Folks,

One more question for now about fieldwork and I will then post a joint
summary of the results to this and my previous question (about relative
time investment in fieldwork for grammar-writing). 

I am trying to gather information on the procedure for getting
authorization to work among minority language communities in various
countries, as many as I can.

If you have experience in getting government or other official
authorization to do fieldwork, I would very much like  a brief summary of
the requirements and process in the country(ies) where you worked. I will
of course treat these as rough summaries, not as official answers. I would
like to be able to summarize this for other potential fieldworkers,
however. Again, I will provide anonymity in my summary for those who prefer it.

Dear Sirs,

I am a student at the Technical University of Dresden. My major subject is
English. This semester I am going to write my Master Thesis. As a topic for
my work I have chosen ''Language interference'', because I myself grew up
as a bilingual (Russian and Ukrainian) and my son is now a bilingual too
(Russian and German). I am going to discuss in my work how Russian language
interferes with German language (and vice versa) in the German language
environment. For this purpose I developed a questionnaire, and by now I
have gathered linguistic information from 30 Russian native speakers who
live in Germany. The main goal of my work, however, is not only to show the
Russian-German interference, but to investigate in which way and to which
extent it differs from Russian-English interference. I would like to show
on examples how different language components (phonemes, morphemes,
lexemes, phrases and sentences) can be or have already been changed as a
result of English-Russian interference (both as source and recipient
language) and then to show how it differs from the results of my
Russian-German investigation and to look for the reasons for this difference.

Unfortunately, I did not manage to find sufficiant amount of linguistical
works reporting about Russian-English language interference. I am looking
for bibliographical tips about all possible kinds of language interference
of Russian with English (and if possible German) and vice versa. I am
especially interested in works that cover more than one linguistical aspect.
