Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to announce that ASL access to the 9th Theoretical Issues in
Sign Language Research (TISLR9) conference is currently being worked on.  I
am working with the National Institutes on Deafness and Other Communicative
Disorders (NIDCD) to arrange for federal funding to hire and send ASL
interpreters to the December 6-9, 2006 TISLR Conference in Brazil.  If you
wish to present a paper at the conference, ASL interpreters should be
available to allow you the opportunity to do so.  

It is my hope that we, as Deaf and allied academics, will make our presence
and our work known at the TISLR 9 Conference and I encourage you to
consider submitting a proposal before the November 30th, 2005 deadline on
the Call for Papers.  For more infomation on the TISLR Conference, go to
