Description:
The School intends to make a 3-year fixed appointment in the Department of
Linguistics. The successful candidate will replace Dr. David Adger who has
been awarded a Leverhulme fellowship for the period 2006-2009.
The Department of Linguistics in the School of Modern Languages has an
outstanding research and teaching record (a 5* rating in Research
Assessment Exercise 2001, 23/24 in Teaching Quality Assessment).
The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses in general
linguistics and syntax at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to
contribute to the life of the School in a more general way, for instance by
undertaking appropriate administrative duties. The successful candidate
will also have a good research record/potential.
The appointment will be made on Lecturer A scale, salary in the range of
£26,486 to £30,063 per annum (inclusive of London Allowance), commensurate
with qualifications and experience.
