Description:
The Department of Linguistics at the Max Planck Institute in Leipzig has a
vacancy for a Senior Researcher in the areas of language history and
prehistory, linguistic typology, and description of little studied and
endangered languages.
The five-year non-renewable position is available from 01 January 2007; a
later starting date may be negotiable.
Prerequisites for an application are a PhD and publications in one of the
above mentioned areas.
The salary is according to the German TVöD. The Max Planck Society is
concerned to employ more disabled people; applications from disabled people
are explicitly sought. The Max Planck Society wishes to increase the
proportion of women in areas in which they are underrepresented; women are
therefore explicitly encouraged to apply.

curriculum vitae, description of research interests, two letters of
recommendation, and a piece of written work on one of the relevant topics)
