Subject: (Non)academic Interdisciplinary Career Issues
Dear colleagues,
I am looking for linguists who would like to discuss career issues related
to interdisciplinary work (in an academic environment or elsewhere) and
outreach. Ideally, I would like to share feedback on drafts of job
application materials, particularly statements of research interests (or,
more broadly, professional mission statements).
If you are interested in this type of discussion, or if you know of an
existing discussion group, please contact me (mkuha at bsu.edu). If such a
group does not exist yet and there is sufficient interest, I will be happy
to create one.
I'm already aware of these resources:
Linguistic Enterprises

The ''Careers'' section of The Chronicle of Higher Education
http://chronicle.com/jobs/
Re-envisioning the Ph.D.

Dan Sperber's article ''Why Rethink Interdisciplinarity?''

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
