Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Yale University expects to make an
appointment at either the tenured or the non-tenured level in the field of
syntax, effective as of the academic year 2007-2008. Candidates at the
junior level should be assured of completing the requirements for the Ph.D.
by the summer of 2007 at the latest. Particular consideration will be given
to candidates with broad scholarly interests, including the relations
between syntax and other domains of linguistics or the study of the mind,
who have done serious work on more than one natural language, and who have
a demonstrated commitment to graduate and undergraduate education.

Applicants should send a current CV, two or three representative pieces of
research and the names of potential references by 15 December, 2006 to:

to us before we explicitly request them: such unsolicited letters will be
disregarded in the appointment process. We hope to interview potential
candidates at the annual meeting of the Linguistic Society of America in
Anaheim, CA in January 2007, and additional applications may be submitted
