We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

I would be most grateful if I could be directed to any work being done on
global varieties of Chinese Mandarin, along the same vein as global
varieties of English - ideally, studies that take us beyond mere lexical
variation to also grammatical, syntax, etc structures.
Warmest regards,

Subject: Videos/DVDs of English Language Teaching
Dear All,
I am looking for videos or DVDs of teachers teaching English, to use in my
MA TESOL module on language learning and teaching. I am aware of the
International House series, and am sampling it, but I would like to get a
wider variety of contexts; the IH series on the whole shows multilingual
and small-class teaching. I would like to have videos/DVDs (which need not
be polished professional products) that show monolingual classes,
different-sized classes, different levels of resource... Has anyone got
any suggestions?
If you respond directly to me, I will post a summary of responses to the list.
Thanks in advance,
Catherine
