Description:
Applications are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant
Professor level in Linguistics. A PhD in Linguistics, a strong research
record, publications and demonstrated teaching ability are required. The
primary area of specialization is Sociolinguistics (broadly defined) with a
concentration in two or more of the following areas: language and identity,
language contact, language variation and change, language and culture,
discourse analysis. Given the interdisciplinary nature of our graduate
program, special consideration will be given to candidates who can bridge
the above areas.
The successful candidate should be suitable for prompt appointment to the
Faculty of Graduate Studies. All positions at York University are subject
to budgetary approval.
