Description:
The Research Group for Computational Linguistics and Cognitive Science at
the Institute of Cognitive Science, University of Osnabrueck, Germany has a
vacancy for the position of a Lecturer/Researcher in Computational
Linguistics (Salary level according to BAT IIa/TV-L) to be filled by 1st
March, 2007 for a period of three years.
The position involves teaching (usually 4 hours/week) Cognitive Science
courses at BSc and MSc level with an emphasis on Computational Linguistics
as well as research in one or more of the research areas of the
Computational Linguistics Group (context-dependence, semantics-pragmatics
interface, information structure / discourse structure, event semantics,
lexical semantics, human language processing; for details see:

participation in committee work as well as administrational tasks.
Candidates are expected to have a university degree (at the level of a
Master or PhD) in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a closely
related discipline (e.g. Artificial Intelligence or Psycholinguistics) with
very good knowledge of Linguistics. Candidates are also expected to have a
good research record in one or more of the relevant areas as well as a
clear interest in interdisciplinary work in Cognitive Science. Good
knowledge of English is required, as all teaching is conducted in English.
There is the possibility of integrating the research tasks of this position
with the work for further academic qualifications.
The University of Osnabrück strives for an increase in the number of women
