Subject: Editor Hannah Morales' Commitment to the Nonprofit Sector 

Dear LINGUIST Subscribers,

I've been part of the LINGUIST team for just under one year, and I'm looking 
forward to staying on through the completion of my Master's degree.  In a world 
where so many organizations are profit-driven, I am proud to maintain my 
commitment to the nonprofit sector here at LINGUIST.  Providing free information 
about languages and linguistics is exactly the type of work I am excited to tell 
other people about--and my friends finally understand what I study!  

My latest activities are editing the Ask-A-Linguist page and posting book and 
journal call announcements.  The first is a great opportunity to see what the 
public thinks and asks about the nature of linguistics, and the other two are a 
fun way of being informed about the latest academic research areas.  To me, this 
shows the broad audience that LINGUIST reaches and the many areas of thought 
that find their way onto our site.

As a co-coordinator of Fund Drive 2007, I've been able to concentrate on the 
positive contributions that The LINGUIST List makes to the academic community 
and the public--and there are so many!  Our resources are used by academics, 
professionals, students, language learners, and the just plain curious.  Our 
student staff is genuinely excited about LINGUIST's activities, so our office 
is the perfect atmosphere for budding linguists.  Please donate to keep us 
running!
