Meeting Description:

The Institute for Music in Human and Social Development (IMHSD), in
collaboration with Queen's University, Canada and the International Study Centre
at Herstmonceux Castle, invites proposals for an interdisciplinary summer
workshop on the topic of Music, Language and Movement. The aim of the meeting is
to consider the interaction between these different forms of human communication
and artistic expression. The meeting will include lectures, discussions,
workshops and performances and will take place in the beautiful environment of
Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex. 

Please send proposals of 200-300 words to Karen Ludke (k.ludke at sms.ed.ac.uk),
indicating your discipline and your preference for a poster presentation, a 20
minute talk or a 90 minute workshop.

Submissions (Deadline Notification)
Abstracts of papers for 30 minutes should be submitted by the end of April 2007,
up to 500 words in length, to Professor Amano, Masachiyo of Nagoya University 
(mamano at lit.nagoya-u.ac.jp) or Assistant Professor Tanaka, Tomoyuki  of Nagoya
University (tanakat at lit.nagoya-u.ac.jp) in doc (MS word) format or PDF format.
(If your abstract requires special fonts, send it in PDF format.)

The hotel we recommend in the first circular, Rubura Ohzan
(http://www.rubura.org/) is almost fully occupied. (They have no single room
available and a few twin rooms left.) If you live outside Japan and need help in

a symposium organized by Professor Ogura, Michiko: Old English
versions of the Gospels - a dialectal-synchronic comparison. The speakers and

Proceedings
Papers accepted will be published in the proceedings. (The papers read at the
2005 meeting were published as Textual and Contextual Studies in Medieval
English: Towards the Reunion of Linguistics and Philology (ed. by Michiko Ogura)
by Peter Lang.)

Registration Fee
Registration fee is ¥5,000 ( €37, £25 or US$45). Everyone whose paper is
accepted is asked to pay another ¥5,000 to the editorial board. The length of
the final version to be printed should be about 5000 words including notes and
references. Payment shall be done on arrival.

Social Programme
A conference opening reception will be held on the first evening (7th of
September) and we will take you to Tokugawa Art Museum, where you can see such
masterpiece collections as the twelfth century illustrated handscroll of The
Tale of Genji, arguably the oldest ''novel'' in the world. See they website for
