Description:

The Department of English Language and Literature in the Faculty of Arts
and Social Sciences (FASS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS)
invites applications for a three-year position at the level of Visiting
Fellow, Senior Visiting Fellow, Visiting Associate Professorial Fellow, or
Visiting Professor.  The applicant should be able to teach courses in
systemic functional linguistics and multimodality at Honours and
postgraduate levels, and supervise Honours, MA and PhD projects in these
fields.  The position is available from 1 July 2007.

Applicants should have a PhD in linguistics, multimodality or a related
field, a sound record of international publications, and a commitment to
teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  All candidates should
have (or have the potential to develop) an international standing in their
field of research. 

NUS expects the highest standards of teaching and scholarship from its
faculty.  In return, it offers excellent terms and conditions.  There is
considerable support for research and conference presentations, and a very
well funded library.  In addition, FASS has a Research Cluster system in
place to strengthen research in the humanities.
