Description:
Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Linguistics at the
level of Assistant Professor, effective 1 August 2008. Applicants must have
a demonstrable research interest in at least one of the areas of
Experimental Linguistics (i.e., Language Acquisition, Psycholinguistics,
Neurolinguistics, etc.). In keeping with the orientation of the department,
applicants should have a demonstrated interest in the interface between
experimental research and one or more areas of linguistic theory.
General qualifications: PhD in linguistics and demonstrated excellence in
research and teaching in the area(s) of specialization. Duties will include
undergraduate and graduate teaching, graduate research guidance and
departmental responsibilities.
Salary: McGill scale.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian
citizens and permanent residents of Canada will be given priority. McGill
University is committed to equity in employment. English is the language of
instruction at McGill, but knowledge of French is an asset.
