Meeting Description:
The focus of the conference will be on translation of poetry (first of all
Persian) but other topics like theory of translation and interpreting, teaching
of translation and interpreting, Bible translation etc. are welcome as well.
The Third Cracow Conference ''Oriental Languages in Translation'', like the two
previous ones, is aimed at the discussion of theoretical and practical problems
of translation especially from and into Oriental And African languages. The
present edition is dedicated to the memory of Wladyslaw Duleba, translator of
classical and modern Persian poetry into Polish. The deadline for proposals is
September 15th 2007. Full texts will be published in a conference volume but
the organizers will have right to have them evaluated by independent and
anonymous experts and to publish only those recommended for publication.
