Description:

Faculty of Arts and Philosophy - a part-time (50%) vacancy as Professor in the
rank of Lecturer (docent) or Professor in the rank of Senior Lecturer
(hoofddocent) in the field of modern French Linguistics.

The faculty of Arts and Philosophy would like to invite applications for the
position of Lecturer (docent) or Senior Lecturer (hoofddocent) in the Department
of French, beginning February 1, 2008, until September 30, 2011.  The position
is part-time (50%). The responsibilities of the successful applicant will
include: academic teaching (in French) and research in the field of modern
French linguistics.

Profile:
- on the day of application, candidates should hold a PhD degree with doctoral
thesis or a degree recognized as equivalent;
- candidates are required to have research experience in the field of modern
French linguistics (syntax, semantics, pragmatics), supported by outstanding
recent contributions to national and international peer reviewed journals;
- international mobility, through, for example, participation in research
programmes at research institutions not linked to the university where the
highest degree was obtained, would be an advantage;
- candidates are required to possess the necessary didactic, organizational and
communicative skills for teaching at an academic level.

Depending on the specific profile of the selected candidate, the degree of
Professor in the rank of Senior Lecturer or Professor in the rank of Lecturer
will be granted.
