We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.

In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.

To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Dear all,

I have been working on the 'split infinitives' construction in English.
As I have just started browsing relevant ariticles on this topic, I have
some difficulties in obtaining relevant articles or books on this topic.

I am wondering whether or not anyone can give me some relevant information
regarding which paper or book to start in order to expand my research
interest and to explore my research approach. Or it would be just nice if
you could give me a list of relevant references or website that I should
consult with.

Thank you in advance for your kind and prompt reaction in this matter.

Sincerely,

Manabu Tobe
