Research Assistant in Dialogue Systems and Machine Learning

Salary: £21,682 - £24,403 per annum
You will assist in developing and testing programs for a computer dialogue
system that underlies a speech and graphics interface for an artificial
companion. Applicants will work as part of a team and be able to carry out the
implementation of algorithms and software designed by senior researchers and
academics. Applicants must have a good first degree or have equivalent relevant
experience. Experience in programming (preferably in Java) as well as some
experience of Machine Learning (preferably in dialogue modeling), sentiment
analysis or cognitive modeling is also essential. The post can be held part time
for anyone studying for a Sheffield PhD. This post is available immediately and
is for an initial year, extensible to three years.
