Meeting Description
The main objective of this conference is to gather researchers and teachers in
an exchange on recent research in the field applied linguistics, teaching
Spanish as a Foreign language and related disciplines.
The organizing committee of the 3rd Conference on Teaching Spanish as a Foreign
Language (SFL) in Quebec, CEDELEQ III, has the pleasure to invite researchers
and practitioners to submit a proposal to participate in the conference that
will take place from May 1-3, 2008 at Concordia University, Montreal, Quebec,
Canada. CEDELEQ III is an event organized by Concordia University, Université de
Montréal, Université du Québec à Montréal and Centre de Ressources de l'espagnol
at the Université de Montréal, and sponsored by the Spanish government and
Concordia University as well as different publishing houses. The main objective
of this conference is to gather researchers and teachers in an exchange on
recent research in the field and its implications for the language classroom.

Meeting Description
The Penn Linguistics Colloquium is an annual conference organized by graduate
students in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania. Our
invited speaker this year is Professor Sandra Chung from the University of
California, Santa Cruz. The special session is 'Prosody and its interfaces'.
Call for Papers
The 32nd Annual Penn Linguistics Colloquium will take place February 22-24,
2008 at the University of Pennsylvania campus in Philadelphia.
Invited Speaker: Sandra Chung of the University of California, Santa Cruz
(title TBA).
Special Session: Prosody and its interfaces
Papers on any topic in linguistics and associated fields are welcome. Speakers
will have 20 minutes for their presentations and 5 minutes for discussion and
questions.
Deadline: Abstracts are due Monday November 19, 2007. Notification of
acceptance/rejection will be given by Monday, January 14, 2008.
Length: Please limit abstracts to one page, single- or double-spaced. An
additional page may be used for references and tables. Do not include your name
or affiliation within the abstract.
Format: To facilitate the review process, please submit your abstract as a
.pdf file.
Submission: An online abstract submission form will be available at the PLC
website, http://www.ling.upenn.edu/Events/PLC/
Proceedings: Conference proceedings will be published as a volume of the Penn
Working Papers in Linguistics. Speakers will be invited to provide camera-ready
copies of their papers after the Colloquium.
