Meeting Description

The aim of this Norms thematic workshop on Argument Structure is twofold: we
invite papers that examine the microparametric variation in the argument
structure across languages, and papers that want to develop syntactic theory in
such a way that the restrictions on argument structure can be calculated.

Meeting Description:
YEMM was founded in 2003 by Alexandra Galani and Ryo Otoguro, who were then PhD
students at the University of York and the University of Essex, respectively. It
aims at giving the opportunity for informal discussion of a variety of issues in
morphology. The meeting is a place to exchange ideas from different theoretical
perspectives and familiarise people, particularly students, with different
frameworks. For these purposes, we invite specialists from various frameworks
working on morphology-related research topics. We also have a number of student
presentations. Previous meetings, held alternately at York and Essex, were very
successful. Everyone sharing the same interests is welcome to join us! 

The Fifth York-Essex Morphology Meeting (YEMM5), which will be held at the 
University of York (England) 9-10th February 2008, is organized jointly by the 
University of York and the University of Essex.

The meeting is topic-free, containing papers on any morphology-related topic. 

Submission Details: 
(1) Abstracts for 20 minute talks (plus 10 minute discussion) should: 
Be anonymous 
Be no longer than 1 A4 page 
Use a font no smaller than 11pt 
Have at least 2.5cm (1 inch) margins on all sides. 
(2) File Format:
The attachment must be in .pdf format. 
Please don't send Microsoft Word or any other proprietary document file format
(word-perfect etc). 
Please do include all fonts in .pdf documents. 
(3) Other Information:
Include your Name, Affiliation, and Title of the paper in the body of the email. 
Send your abstract as an email attachment to: ag153 at york.ac.uk
