The Institute for Natural Language Processing (IMS) at Universität
Stuttgart has an opening for a Junior-Professorship in Computational
Linguistics, starting on January 1st, 2008. This is a new position, which
has been created to support a long term strategic grant funded by the
German Science Foundation (SFB 732 - DFG).
Applicants should have a pertinent publication record in computational
linguistics. Expertise in morphology, syntax, semantics and knowledge
representation is desirable.
Teaching: contributions to courses in algorithmic and theoretical syntax
are expected.
Research: applied and theoretical computational linguistics. Applicants
are required to collaborate with theoretical linguists, and in particular
to contribute research proposals to the strategic grant SFB 732
(Incremental Specification in Context).
The requirements for employment listed in § 51 Baden-Wuerttemberg
university law apply. Junior Professors are appointed for three years,
with a possible extension to six years.
Applicants are asked to send their documents before October 31st, 2007 to
Dean Prof. Dr. Achim Stein.
Universitaet Stuttgart wishes to increase the proportion of female academic
