================================================================
The LINGUIST List strongly encourages employers to use
non-discriminatory standards in hiring policy. In particular we urge
that employers do not discriminate on the grounds of race, ethnicity,
nationality, age, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. However, we
have no means of enforcing these standards.
Job seekers should pay special attention to language in ads regarding
employment requirements and are encouraged to consult our international
employment page http://linguistlist.org/jobs/jobnet.html. This page has been set
up so that people can report on the employment standards of various countries.

addresses, proper names, punctuation conventions, spelling reform, etc.
Familiarity with 'variables' (linguistics formalisms or
programming/computational linguistics background) is required.

the gray areas. US residents must have US work authorization (US citizen
or permanent resident; unfortunately, we cannot sponsor employment visas at
this time). Although there are no geographic requirements regarding remote
work location, all language consultants are expected to be timely in their
communication and regularly available for some email or phone
correspondence during the regular business hours of 9h00-17h00 Pacific
Standard Time.
Compensation:
We offer a competitive, hourly pay rate DOE (paid as 1099 self-employment
income).
