SoLLs.INTEC.09 International Conference is a conference organised by the School
of Language Studies and Linguistics, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities,
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Theme: Language and Culture: Creating and Fostering Global Communities
Date: 5th May- 6th May, 2009
Venue: Palm Garden Hotel, IOI Resort, Putrajaya, Malaysia
Objectives:
- To bring together local and international scholars, educators, applied
linguists, researchers, literary and ELT professionals to explore, examine and
understand issues related to language and culture in creating and fostering
global communities
- To address the connection between language and culture within and between
communities
- To describe and examine development of identities and relationships in diverse
second language contexts and knowledge-sharing within and between communities in
practice
- To explicate how technology links culturally diverse communities
- To provide a platform for the discussion and debate of issues in the areas of
language, linguistics and literature
