Description:

The Center for Language and Cognition Groningen, Faculty of Arts,
University of Groningen, announces the following position:

Postdoc Position (100%) in Sentence Processing (vacancy 208196)
This postdoc project investigates the processing of contrastive stress in
children between 4 and 8 years old and adults. Production of contrastive
stress is studied using elicited production tasks. Online comprehension of
contrastive stress is studied in eye-tracking experiments. For the
eye-tracking experiments, the postdoc will use our recently opened
eye-tracking lab, which is equipped with a state of the art Tobii T120
eye-tracker.

The position is part of the VICI project "Asymmetries in Grammar", funded
by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO). The VICI
project investigates asymmetries in language acquisition between correct
production and correct comprehension. The project is multidisciplinary in
nature, combining theoretical analysis with empirical research in language
acquisition, sentence
processing and language pathology.

Requirements
- A PhD in Linguistics or Psychology.
- Research experience including relevant publications in the area of
sentence processing and/or language acquisition.
- Ability to work together with other researchers.
- Attested supervision skills.
- Knowledge of Dutch.

Conditions of employment
Employment basis: Temporary for specified period.
Duration of the contract: Three years, starting as soon as possible.
Maximum hours per week: 38
The University of Groningen offers a salary dependent on qualifications and
work experience up to a maximum of € 3678,- gross per month for a full-time
position.
