Associate Professor in English Language & Applied Linguistics & Director of
Award-Bearing Teaching
Applications are invited for this new post based in the Centre for English
Language Education (CELE). The successful candidate will be expected to
lead and further develop all aspects of award-bearing teaching in the
Centre (Foundation level included), as well as carry out individual and
team-based research in an area relating to the work of the Centre.
In addition to holding a PhD in applied linguistics, candidates must be
able to demonstrate that they have previous teaching experience at
undergraduate and postgraduate level, a good record of research, and proven
leadership and inter-personal skills. By negotiation, this post may entail
periods of teaching or research at the University's campuses in Malaysia
and/or in Ningbo, China.
Salary will be within the range £46,278 - £55,259 per annum, depending on
qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £65,965 per annum,
subject to performance). The post is available immediately.
