We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually
best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is
then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we
would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it
is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have
taken the trouble to respond to the query.
To post to LINGUIST, use our convenient web form at

Dear colleagues,
I am writing you in order to ask you for support. I am about to start a
research on the language attitudes of native speakers of English toward
different varieties of English and their attitudes toward English produced
by L2 speakers (both foreign and native-like L2 speakers). But I am lacking
an overview of the studies that dealt with language attitudes, in general.
I would be very grateful if anyone can provide me with some info on where
to find an overview of literature that considered this question already. I
would be happy to get as many as possible literature recommendations.
Thank you in advance
Best regards
Marta Schiller
