Meeting Description:

Encontro Comemorativo ILTEC - 20 anos / Commemorative Meeting ILTEC - 20 years
June 30 and July 1st 2008
Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Auditory 3
Lisbon, Portugal

This year, the Institute for Theoretical and Computational Linguistics de
Linguística Teórica e Computacional, (ILTEC, (Lisbon, Portugal - www.iltec.pt)
is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

ILTEC was created in 1988 to host the Portuguese team of the Eurotra project.
During its 20 years of existence, ILTEC had a decisive role in the development
of linguistic studies in Portugal, in the introduction of computational
linguistics in our country, as well as in the training of a whole generation of
linguists and computational linguists who work in these fields in both national
and international institutions and enterprises.

For all these reasons, we believe that it is worth celebrating ILTEC's 20th
anniversary. We are hosting a scientific event under the general theme of
Discourse, Diversity and Literacy: Portuguese Language in the 21st century.
This event will be held in the Portuguese Language.
More information about this event and the updated program are available at
http://www.iltec.pt/20anos/index.html

Discurso, Diversidade e Literacia: a língua portuguesa no século XXI.
