Meeting Description: 

The Australian Council of TESOL Associations (ACTA) is delighted to present this
inaugural international TESOL conference set in the heart of Australia and
during internationally renowned keynote speakers and leading educational
practitioners focusing on the theme 'Pedagogies of Connection: Developing
Individual and Community Identities'. The conference will be held at the Alice
Springs Convention Centre on 10-12 July 2008 following the TESOL Symposium also
held at the Alice Springs Convention Centre on 9 July 2008. 

The focus of this conference is the potential for TESOL pedagogies to make     
   connections among individuals and communities. The conference will explore a
       range of TESOL pedagogies and their influences on the development of
identities and relationships in diverse TESOL settings. This will include
discussion of the roles of language and culture within pedagogy. The keynote
speakers are international leaders in the field, and conference participants
will comprise TESOL educators and researchers from around the globe.

This event follows a TESOL Symposium on 9th July, at the Alice Springs
Convention Centre, with the theme of ''Keeping Language Diversity Alive''.
