Description:
Anticipated Tenure-track, Assistant Professor in French Linguistics.
Beginning Fall 2009.
Area of specialization in linguistics is open. The successful candidate
must be able to teach a course in French Phonetics and Phonemics. Ability
to teach courses in Italian highly desirable. As a research-extensive
university, NIU requires evidence of a strong research program as well as
excellence in teaching.
Duties include teaching a broad range of courses in linguistics, French
language and translation. Additional requirements include: a Ph.D. in
Linguistics by the time of appointment; native or near-native fluency in
French; experience in the use of technology in language teaching.
The Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 requires the university to
inform you that we can only employ U.S. citizens and aliens lawfully
authorized to work in the U.S. Each new employee is required to present
documentation verifying identity and the right to accept employment.
