Description:

The University of North Texas invites application for the position of
Assistant Professor (tenure track) in linguistics with a specialization in
second language acquisition, Department of Linguistics and Technical
Communication, beginning fall 2009.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in linguistics or applied linguistics
with a specialization in Second Language Acquisition by the time of the
appointment. Teaching experience in undergraduate linguistics courses and
graduate courses in Second Language Acquisition and in teaching English as
a Second Language are preferred.

Job Description:
As a tenure-track member of the faculty, candidates will be expected to
develop a record of scholarly research necessary to obtain tenure.
Candidates will teach upper-level undergraduate courses and some graduate
courses. Teaching load and assignment will depend on qualifications and
circumstances.

located in the vibrant and rapidly expanding Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan
area and situated in close proximity to DFW International Airport.
University enrollment is over 34,000 students with more than 6,500 graduate
students. The university offers 257 undergraduate and graduate majors and
concentrations.
