Description:
The Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab (Technical University of
Darmstadt, Germany) has an immediate opening for several PhD students to carry
out research in the areas of (1) lexical semantic processing utilizing
collaboratively constructed resources, (2) enhancing question answering systems
by means of semantics, and (3) natural language processing for educational
purposes. The positions are funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and
other third parties.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science and/or
computational linguistics. Previous work experience with one of the themes
mentioned above is a definite asset (M.Sc., or equivalent). A keen interest in
the topic and the will to pursue a doctoral degree in Natural Language
Processing at the Computer Science Department of the Technical University of
Darmstadt are expected.
