Description:

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The University of
Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or
Associate Professor position in Spanish starting Fall 2009.

Responsibilities:  Teaching in the BA and MA programs in Spanish.
Leadership in development of new lines of research and teaching. 
Required qualifications - Assistant Professor:  University or college
teaching experience, fluent in Spanish, PhD in Spanish linguistics,
philology, literature or related field in hand by May 31, 2009. Research
record or demonstrated research potential commensurate with experience.

Required qualifications - Associate Professor: University or college
teaching experience, fluent in Spanish, PhD in Spanish linguistics,
philology, literature or related field.  Record of publications appropriate
to rank.  Tenure will be granted on the basis of appropriate record of
research, teaching, and service experience.

Preferred qualifications - Assistant and Associate Professor:  Experience
with technology-enhanced teaching. Interest and expertise in teaching
translation. Multiple fields of expertise, including multimedia, are a
plus. Experience with grants and funding is strongly preferred.
