4th International Conference of Modern Greek Dialects and Linguistic Theory (MGDLT)

About MGDLT:
Modern Greek dialects are rich in linguistic phenomena, which have been usually
neglected by current linguistic theory. The purpose of MGDLT Conference is to
fill this gap, and bring together mature scientists and young researchers. It is
meant to be organized every two or three years in a different location in the
Greek speaking countries of Greece and Cyprus.
The Proceedings of the previous meetings are published by the University of
Patras or the University of Cyprus, and are available on request.
In every conference there are three or four invited speakers, who are well-known
linguists for their work in general linguistics and/or dialectology.

Submission of Abstracts:
 
Abstracts should be one page long (single-spaced, 12 point, 2.5 cm margins), and
may be sent electronically (Word or PDF) to

or on a CD by regular

Meeting Description:

GASLA brings together researchers within theoretical linguistics (syntax,
semantics, phonology, morphology), second language acquisition, and
psycholinguistics to present state of the art work providing contemporary
insights into second language acquisition. The conference is devoted to
mentalist aspects of second language acquisition, such as the description of
nonnative grammars, similarities and differences between first and second
language acquisition, and sentence processing by nonnative speakers. Theoretical
and empirical links between second language acquisition, bilingualism, and
language disorders are also emphasized.

The 10th Generative Approaches to Second Language Acquisition Conference is
inviting abstract submissions for its meeting, to be held on March 13-15, 2009
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Abstracts are solicited for
20-minute oral presentations (plus 10 minutes for discussion) or poster
presentations. Abstract submission will be done online using a special web
interface (see https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/atrembla/gasla10 for details). Only
.pdf submissions will be accepted. The body of the abstract is limited to 500
words. Examples, figures, and references are limited to one additional page per
submission. The abstract should be anonymous. Any non-standard fonts should be
embedded in the .pdf file.
