Meeting Description: 

Pratique de connaissance elle-même, l'histoire des idées linguistiques 
s'applique aux modes de production des connaissances concernant le langage et 
les langues. Elle suppose donc une historicité des sciences du langage. Nous 
entendons par là que l'histoire n'est pas un simple « milieu » dans lequel ces 
connaissances seraient produites, mais une temporalité spécifique engendrée par 
des pratiques, assujettie à des finalités, déterminée par des causes socio-
historiques et des représentations théoriques dont l'historien a à charge de 
construire des représentations adéquates et les articulations. 
Loin de faire, donc, de cette historicité une essence ou une abstraction, loin 
de confondre l'histoire avec le passé, cette École 2009 souhaite circonscrire 
pour elle-même ce mixte de contingence et de rationalité qui constitue 
l'histoire des sciences (et des sciences du langage parmi elles) et y 
sensibiliser son public.
