SPANISH LINGUISTICS

The University of Western Ontario, Department of Modern Languages and
Literatures invites applications for a Probationary (tenure-track) position
at the rank of Assistant Professor in Spanish Linguistics, to begin July 1,
2010. PhD completed or nearing completion in Spanish and/or Linguistics
required. Excellence in teaching and research and native or near-native
fluency in Spanish are essential. Preference will be given to candidates
who work in one or more of the following areas: language contact,
bilingualism, language acquisition, language disorders or language
attrition. Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate and
graduate levels, thesis supervision, and an active role in the Linguistics
and Transatlantic Studies programmes.

October 1, 2009. Positions are subject to budget approval. Applicants
should have fluent oral and written communication skills in English. All
