Call for Papers

Topics for papers:
1. Pronouns and semantic/syntactic roles. (Nominal and pronominal arguments.
Animacy/deictic hierarchy. Pronouns and role marking typology).
2. Morphological status of pronominal elements. (words, clitics, affixes) 
3. Syntactic functions of pronominal elements (pronouns, predicative-pronominal
markers, inflections)
4. Pronominal paradigmatics. (Variety of formal techniques for expressing the
semantics of personality: morphemic neutralization, submorphemic marking,
morphophonological and syntactic interactions.) 
5. The category of person and related categories. (Person and number, inclusive
and exclusive, logophoricity and reflexivity, compound pronouns, portmanteau
pronouns; gender, class, case, etc.)
6. Reconstruction of pronominal systems: problems and perspectives.

Workshop is planned for 4 days: 3 days for the sessions (2 topics per day), and
the 4th day for a general discussion and a cultural program. Time for a
presentation: 30 minutes (20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for the
discussion). 

Unfortunately, we cannot cover travel and accommodation expenses of the
participants, but we will help to find a suitable accommodation in St.
Petersburg. There is no conference fee. 

Deadline for the abstracts (up to 5 pages): April, 30 2010. 
The authors of the presentations which will be selected will be informed not
later than May, 31.

Your suggestions concerning the formulation of the topics are most welcome.
