Call for applications, Academic Year 2008/09
The ''Introduction to Terminology'' Online Postgraduate Course is a six-week and
10-credit (ECTS) course.
Objectives:
This ''Introduction to Terminology'' course aims to:
-Introduce students to the understanding of terminology as a theoretical
and applied field.
-Present its fundamental units within the framework of specialized
discourse and knowledge
-Familiarize students with the applied work needed for the preparation of
specialized dictionaries
Contents:
The course includes six didactic units, each of them taught by a different
instructor:
Unit 1: Terminology and specialized communication
Unit 2: The unit of analysis of specialized discourse
Unit 3: The terminological unit
Unit 4: The terminography work: the processing of term compilation
Unit 5: Terminology: definition and functions
Unit 6: Terminology: history and organization
Working Languages:
English (and Spanish)

Introductory Course: From February 18 to April 15, 2009
Pre-registration: Permanently open
Registration: Until February 4, 2009
