Description:
The Alaska Native Language Center is currently recruiting an editorial
specialist to oversee all aspects of its publication program, including
both print and new media distribution. This position is the editor of a
scholarly press at the Alaska Native Language Center publishing books in
and on Alaska's twenty Native languages. The Alaska Native Language Center
is a center for research and teaching of Native languages and also houses
an extensive archive.
The editor position oversees all aspects of the publication program at ANLC
and associated Alaska Native programs. This includes planning and directing
the production of publications from the early manuscript stage to the final
design and printing. The editor works with linguists and other scholars and
authors to ensure accuracy.
Applicants should hold at least a bachelor's degree with advanced skills in
English or journalism. Preference will be given to applicants with
experience working with linguistic data and/or knowledge of Alaska Native
languages, history, and culture.
This is a full-time, permanent, benefited position. Details can be found
