Abstract:

Attention Users of Alif Baa

Since the release of the second edition of Alif Baa with DVDs in the fall
of 2004, it has come to our attention that some of the DVD-ROMs packaged
with the book exhibit poor playability. Therefore, Georgetown University
Press has released a new version of the second edition with a new and
improved digital format. Alif Baa with Multimedia: An Introduction to
Arabic Letters and Sounds, Second Edition (ISBN 9781589015067) will include
one DVD featuring all of the same audio and video - now in an easier-to-use
Flash format.

The text of the new version will not change and the multimedia (although in
an improved format) will not change. That means that teachers and students
can continue to use both versions of the second edition. Alif Baa with
DVDs, Second Edition (ISBN 9781589011021) has been discontinued.
