Meeting Description:
The aim of this Inaugural Workshop is to announce the foundation and the range
of activities of the Language and Culture Research Group within the new Cairns
Institute at James Cook University. It is oriented towards linguists,
anthropologists and other social scientists, together with representatives from
indigenous communities of Far North Queensland. The Inaugural Workshop is
focused on endangered languages and their cultures all over the world, with an
additional focus on languages of Australia.
